CROCHET TRIANGLE SHAWL

Rows of half double crochet and a decorative border form this basic shawl triangle. Make it in a sablelike yarn and lend a touch of luxury to any outfit.

hook & extra
• Size K/10.5 (6.5 mm) crochet hook OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE 
• Blunt-end yarn needle

PREP 
gauge
9 sts and 8 rows = 4" (10 cm) in hdc. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

CROCHET
Ch 122 loosely.
Row 1 (RS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across 120 sts. Do not make turning ch; turn.

Row 2: Sk first st, hdc in each st to last st; do not work last st.Do not make turning ch; turn.
Rep Row 2 for 47 more times-24 sts. Fasten off

Cluster-Stitch Edging 
Wth RS facing, join yarn with a sl st in any corner.

Rnd 1: *Ch 4, in same St as joining, work as foll: {yo hook 4 times, insert hook into st (or row) and draw up a lp, (yo and draw through 2 lps on hook) 4 times} 4 times, yo and draw through all 5 lps on hook—cluster st made; sk next 2 sts (or rows), sc in next st (or row) to join; rep from * around, making sure to work 1 cluster st in each corner, join rnd with a sl st in first ch of beg ch-4; fasten off. 
Weave in ends.
