COUNTRY HOUSE CUSHION

 In the shade of a cool verandah, dainty blossoms spill from pots and can be seen amongst the leaves of topiary trees on this charming appliqued cushion.

MATERIALS
• 60cm background fabric
• 1 5cm fabric for roof and verandah roof
• 30cm x 1.5cm rectangle of ticking or alternative fabric for the house
• Scraps of fabric for the verandah, door. windows, chimney, topiary trees. pots, blossoms
• 20cm green fabric for trellis
• 50cm square backing fabric for quilting cushion
• Cotton threads for piecing and to match the

Gauava Quilting Pattern

 Making the block 

I. Cut base square of background fabric measuring 15'' X 15'' (38cm x 38cm). including (1.3cm) seam allowance. 

2. Using templates and adding (0.3cm) seam allowance, lightly outline pattern onto base. 

3. Sew pieces A and B onto base

Orchid Fabric Belt





1 Draw around the petal and leaf templates onto the cardstock. Cut them out with the paper scissors. Place  the cardstock templates on the suede scraps and draw around them with the pencil to produce seven of each of the four petal shapes
